FINAL ANNOUNCEMENTS: Friday, May 7

Today is THE LAST DAY OF CLASS. Any remaining Week 15 assignments or extra credit assignments must be completed by noon today!!!!

Week 15 Blog Responding assignment. The Week 15 Blog Responding assignment is actually not a blog responding assignment - but don't worry: I think you will be pleased when you see what this week's assignment is, and it will not take you any time at all to complete.

Storybooks. For those of you who will be turning a Week 15 Storybook assignment on Friday morning, please do that as soon as you can so that I can read the assignment and mark the points for you in the Gradebook - the earlier you can get that turned in, the more time you will have to manage anything that comes up unexpectedly or needs to be corrected.

Grading and points. (repeat announcement) As you can see in the Grading Information page, you need 410 to get an A, 360 points to get a B, and 320 points to get a C. So, check your points in the Gradebook if you have not done so already, and make sure you have completed all the points you need by noon.

HAPPY SUMMER!!!!!!

Evaluate.. and win an iPad. Today, Thursday, is the last day to complete the course evaluations available at eval.ou.edu. Plus, I learned from the OU Twitter feed that they are giving away an iPad to some lucky student drawn at random from the people who completed the course evaluations! So, if you have not completed the evaluations for your classes, please take a few minutes to do that today. Your feedback is really valuable to me... and it might turn out to be valuable to you, too! :-)

May 3: Pete Seeger. Sunday, May 3, is the birthday of the great American musician and folk singer, Pete Seeger, who was born in 1919, so it is his 91st birthday. Happy birthday, Pete Seeger! You may have seen Pete Seeger performing at Obama's inauguration last January, when together with Bruce Springsteen and his grandson Tao Rodríguez-Seeger, he sang the Woody Guthrie song "This Land Is Your Land." You can read more about Pete Seeger's career in this Wikipedia article, which also contains details about the many celebrations of Pete Seeger's birthday in cities around the United States and in other countries, too. Here's a picture of Pete Seeger performing recently - and you can see Arlo Guthrie there as well, two of America's great folk musicians! :-)
