*** Yoga Mat Giveaway ***

I retweeted an item from OUWellness and won a yoga mat! Since I'm not in Norman to pick it up, they said I could give the yoga mat to someone else, so I'm doing a giveaway. If you'd like this yoga mat, I've set up a Google Form; put your name and email address there by midnight on Saturday, and I'll pick a winner at random on Sunday! :-)

Class Procedures and Reminders

Success Tip: Stretch! Yoga is one way to stretch, and there are lots of other stretching routines. You can even stretch at your desk: Deskercise!

Project Stack. Yesterday I replied to all the assignments turned in on Sunday, and I should be able to get through the rest of the stack today! While you are waiting on comments back from me, you can check the stack to make sure I received your email.

The following items are for fun and exploration:

Blog Stream. I use a fox as my avatar on social media (in honor of the many foxes in Aesop's fables), so of course JJ's story for this week got my attention; it's a version of an Inuit legend: The Story of the Fox.

India Item. The name of SINGAPORE comes from Sanskrit, meaning "Lion-City." Singapore is famous for its mer-lion:

Myth Video OR India Video: Below you can see Sioux Ghost Dancers, dating back to 1894. Find out more at the Library of Congress.

India Comic Book: Today's comic book is about Krishna's brother: Tales of Balarama: Valiant Brother of Krishna. See the Amar Chitra Katha blog for the Bizzell Reserve call number and more information.

Proverb of the Day: Today's proverb is one of the most famous phrases from Aesop's fables: Sour grapes. Find out more at the Proverb Laboratory. The fox cannot reach the grapes... so she insists she didn't want them anyway because they were sour.

Writing: Here's a fun item about Emojis as Hieroglyphics.

H.E.A.R.T.: And here's a calming item from Buddha Doodles: No rush.

Growth Mindset: Today's growth mindset cat is developing new skills: I haven't got it ... yet. You can find out more at the Growth Mindset blog.

Event on Campus: The American Indian Student Life Spring Celebration will take place on the South Oval starting at noon with stickball, social dances, and more (details). Find out more about this and other events at the Campus Calendar online.

Passover 2018. The Jewish holiday of Passover begins this evening. You can read more about this holiday, which commemorates the exodus from Egypt under the leadership of Moses, at Wikipedia. The image below is an illustration from the Golden Haggadah. Below is a Passover video by the amazing Nina Paley (created of "Sita Sings the Blues"): Chad Gadya, and you can read more about this folksong at Wikipedia. The last verse has all the characters: Then came the Holy One, and smote the angel of death, who slew the slaughterer, who killed the ox, that drank the water, that extinguished the fire, that burned the stick, that beat the dog, that bit the cat, that ate the goat.
