Class Procedures and Reminders
Project Stack. I'll update the stack periodically this weekend, and you'll be able to check the stack to make sure I received your assignment. I got through all the assignments turned in last week before noon on Thursday. On Monday, I'll start replying to the assignments in the order received, starting with Thursday afternoon.
Extra Credit. There are lots of extra credit options each week, and there is always more to learn at Wikipedia, so if you have not tried doing a Wikipedia Trails extra credit assignment, I highly recommend it. There's also an extra credit assignment where you review the past week's announcements; it's a great way to catch up and also get ready for the week to come.
The following items are for fun and exploration:
Blog Stream. Brianna worked on her blog profile (that's also an extra credit tech tip!), and she chose this lovely photo to use; I think it looks great!
So now in the sidebar of her blog, you can see that photo also:
Indian Epics Today. The epic character of the day is Ghatotkacha, the rakshasa son of the Pandava hero Bhima; more about Ghatotkacha. Here is his final battle, dueling with Karna:
Storybooks. This is a Storybook all about rakshasis: First Feminists: A Rakshasi Revolution.
Words. And here's a word from mythology: COLOSSAL, borrowed from Greek kolossos. Find out more.
H.E.A.R.T.. You probably don't have classes on Saturday, but everything can be your teacher.
Mindset Cats. The mindset cat is always trying new things.
And sometimes you have to be brave about those new things! This video is also a great example of what music adds to a story:
Event on Campus. It's Homecoming, and I was excited to see Muneeb Ata, former Myth-Folklore student, in the Homecoming Court! (details)
