Class Procedures and Reminders
Other people's stories. For the regular Week 3 blog comments, you will be reading people's stories. Some are stories from Week 2, some from Week 3, plus stories from Week 4 (because people are working ahead), and some microfictions too. Plus, if you are curious and want to read more stories, you can always do the extra credit commenting option that's available each week. Reading other people's stories can be a great way to ignite your own creativity!
Project Stack. Yesterday I read all the projects that people turned in on Monday. Today I'll finish replying to all the Week 2 projects in the stack, and I'll get through as many of the Week 3-4-5-etc. projects as I can before the end of the day. As always, you can check the stack to make sure I received your assignment.
Introductions. I think I've commented on everybody's Introduction post now, but if I missed somebody, just let me know! And with the power of random you'll be getting comments from other people in class. Random means there's no telling how many you will get each week, but over time the power of random will spread comments out all throughout the class.
The following items are for fun and exploration:
Blog stream. Siddharth shared this wonderful meme in his blog post: Introduction to a stand-up comedian. It's a Ramayana meme based on a famous legend about Rama and the squirrels who helped him to build a bridge.
Twitter stream. Here's a fun owl-mood chart for the end of the week (and there's a cat-mood chart in the extra credit Check-In and Connect too).
Storybook. And here are some more Storybooks taking shape: Addison's Dogs of Mythology and SV's Lost Tales of the Avatar. By next Friday, there will be lots more Storybooks coming online!

I've shared a StoryCorps video below for 9/11, and here's another wonderful StoryCorps video; this one is about astronaut Ron McNair:
Here's a cartoon from Fowl Comics about the hard work that it takes to develop your art:
Plus some punctuation humor: The Demicolon.
September 11. In honor of the first responders from 9/11, here is a StoryCorps video: John and Joe. You can find out more about this family's story here: Firefighter Father Recalls Losing Sons On 9/11.
