Class Procedures and Reminders:
Storybook stack. There are still quite a few assignments in the Storybook stack. If you turned in your assignment by 6PM on Sunday, you should have comments back from me now. Assignments turned in later on Sunday or on Monday or Tuesday are probably still in the stack. You can check the contents of the stack to make sure I have received your assignment.
Saving Your Ning Blog. The class Ning will not be available after the end of the semester; in fact, this is the last semester I am able to use Ning — after five great years! — because Ning is discontinuing its mini-Ning option for educators. (For those of you taking a class with me next year, you'll be helping me experiment with a new blogging system for the class.) So, the Ning we have right now will probably stay online until around December, but it might even disappear sooner than that. So, if you want to save any of your blog posts, make sure you do that now so that you don't forget.
Life Humor: Dog Jobs. I know many of you are already working, and some of you are about to embark on your careers of full-time work, so I thought you might enjoy this funny graphic about dogs and their job titles.
Words to Watch: Today's words to watch out for are CLICK and CLIQUE. For details, see this blog post.
Featured Storybook: The Royal Girls' Room. Yes, Marissa's wonderful Storybook for Indian Epics this semester is indeed based on the skit from The Amanda Show!
FREE Kindle eBook: Old Ballads - Volume 1 by Beverley Nichols. Here is a link to the book at Amazon, and this blog post provides additional information about the contents of the book. This is the first of Nichols's four volumes of ballads, and you can find them all - for free - as Amazon Kindle books!
Words of Wisdom: Today's proverb poster is You buy land, you buy stones; you buy meat, you buy bones (an English proverb). Details at the Proverb Lab. I really like this proverb about how you have to take the good and the bad together!
Mahabharata Image: Today's Mahabharata image is Yama, the Hindu god of death who rides upon a water buffalo.
Wednesday Event on Campus: The Sooner Film Festival of student films is happening at 7PM in Meacham Auditorium - free admission and free refreshments (details). Find out more about this and other events at the Campus Calendar online.
Note: You can page back through older blog posts to see any announcements you might have missed.
