Thursday, September 11

Today is Thursday of WEEK 4. If you have not turned in your Week 3 Storybook assignment yet, you have until noon today to turn that in for partial credit. Thursday morning until noon is also the grace period if you did not finish the Storytelling that was due on Wednesday.

Class Procedures and Reminders

Pinterest Boards. As you are doing research for your Storybook projects, I'd like to suggest you consider using Pinterest to bookmark the images and other resources that you find. Especially for a project like the Storybook, Pinterest can be a really useful bookmarking tool. If you've never used Pinterest before, or if you've never used Pinterest for school, I recommend giving it a try. You can learn more about doing that for extra credit here: Twitter and Pinterest. To get a sense of how that can work, here are the Pinterest Boards that I keep for these classes: Myth-Folklore and Indian Epics. You can see other students' Boards at our Pinterest Directory.

Storybook Stack. I'm still working my way through the large stack of Storybook assignments that people have turned in. If you turned in an assignment on Sunday, you should have comments back from me now. If you turned something in on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday, it is probably still in the stack, waiting for me to get to it. If you want to check and make sure your assignment is in the stack, you can see the contents of the stack here. It is always my goal to get through the stack by the end of the day on Friday!

Week 4 Read and Respond. The Week 4 blog commenting assignment is not available yet; that assignment is available each week starting on Friday — and that's right after midnight tonight, so any of you night-owls can do that assignment right after midnight tonight if you want. There will be new random groups, just like last week!

The following items are for fun and exploration:

Art Humor: VanGo Yourself. At the VanGoYourself.com website you can see photographs of people who have recreated artworks with their friends. So much fun! Here is a recreation of Moreau's Oedipus and the Sphinx!

This book contains some familiar stories, like "The Ugly Duckling" along with many other marvelous stories from all over the world.
