Class Procedures and Reminders
Storybook/Portfolio Stack. There are still some Storybooks in the stack, but I hope to get comments back today to anything turned in before Friday. You can check to make sure I have received your assignment here: Storybook/Portfolio stack contents.
Blog Responding. The blog responding groups are ready to go! If you don't have a Storytelling post, you are not in a group, and that means you have free choice for the blog responding: you can choose two people at random from any of the groups when you do that assignment.
Finishing the class early. (repeat announcement) When you finish up with the class, I record a "FINAL GRADE" in the D2L Gradebook so you can be sure you are done. So, just let me know when you have completed the number of points you need: 410 for an A, 360 for a B, 320 for a C. Don't worry about the maximum points displayed in Desire2Learn overall; just look at your total points, and let me know when you have reached the points you need.

OU Library Art. Here is another charming video from the OU Libraries, this time about art in the Library!
Mythology Words in English: Today's mythology word in English is LABYRINTH, from the Greek myth of Daedalus, Theseus, and the Minotaur. For details, see this blog post.
Featured Storybook: Italian Fairy Tales. In this Storybook, Marco — an Italian living in the United States — chooses his favorite Italian fairy tales to tell to his little daughter, hoping to share with her the enchanted stories he heard when he was growing up in Italy.
FREE Kindle eBook: East O' the Sun and West O' the Moon by Gudrun Thorne-Thomsen. Here is a link to the book at Amazon, and this blog post provides additional information about the contents of the book. You will recognize some of the stories in here, like "The Three Billy Goats Gruff," and there are all kinds of other stories as well.
Words of Wisdom: Today's proverb poster is Time and tide wait for no man (an English proverb). Details at the Proverb Lab. This is one of my favorite English proverbs; it's like a tiny poem with the sound play of "time" and "tide."
Mahabharata Image: Today's Mahabharata image is The Death of Jayadratha. You can see Arjuna shooting the fatal arrow.
Friday Event on Campus: There will be free showings of Guardians of the Galaxy in Meacham Auditorium at 6PM, 9PM and midnight (details). Find out more about this and other events at the Campus Calendar online.
Note: You can page back through older blog posts to see any announcements you might have missed, and you can check out the Twitter stream for information and fun stuff during the day.
