Monday, February 22

Today is Monday. Week 5 is now over... and Week 6 has begun. Monday morning, until noon, is the grace period if you did not finish the final Week 5 assignments. This week's topic in the Myth-Folklore class is Africa or Asia, and in Indian Epics you'll be finishing the Mahabharata. Enjoy!

Class Procedures and Reminders

Project Stack. As always on Monday, I will have a HUGE bunch of assignments in the Stack that were turned in over the weekend or on Monday morning. The first thing I will do on Monday morning when I get to work is to update the list of items in the Storybook stack, and then you will be able to check the contents of the stack to make sure I received your assignment. I will then start reading the assignments in the order they were turned in.

Project Commenting. In Week 6, you will start commenting on other people's projects! After the grace period this morning, I'll be able to set up random project commenting groups like the blog groups, and then starting on Tuesday you'll be able to start exploring the Projects. I'll say more about that in tomorrow's announcements.

The following items are for fun and exploration:

Kid Napping. Punctuation saves lives, and so do spaces!

Indian Words in English: Today's word from India in English is SHAWL, which comes from the "shawl-goat" of Kashmir. For details, see this blog post.

Featured Storybook: Ghost Tales of a Traveller. Japan is a country haunted by many ghosts, and as our fearless traveler goes from town to town, there is a ghost in every place, each with its own story to tell.
