Class Procedures and Reminders
Project Stack. Yesterday, I read through all the assignments turned in on Friday and Saturday, and today I'll be starting in on the huge stack of assignments turned in on Sunday; you can check the stack to make sure I received your assignment.
Spring Enrollment. Both Myth-Folklore and Indian Epics are full now for the Spring, but I do have a few full-course permissions left for Indian Epics. So, if you know someone who is interested in taking that class, tell them to get in touch with me. Here's how that works: Course Enrollment.
The following items are for fun and exploration:
Reading. From a bookstore in Perth, Australia: All this "reality" is really cutting into my reading time.
Storytelling. You knew someone had to create something like this sooner or later: Game of Cats.
Word from India. The word for today that comes from India is: SWAMI. The image below is of Swami Vivekananda:
Featured Storybook. This project is from the Indian Epics class: Lifelong Devotion: Tales of Love at Karva Chauth. Karva Chauth is an Indian holiday in which women honor the power of love in their lives. In this Storybook, you will spend the holiday with Sita, Ahalya and Radha as they reflect on the dramatic ways in which each woman's loving devotion was put to the test.
Words of Wisdom: Today's saying is When one door shuts, another opens (a Scottish proverb). Find out more at the Proverb Lab. I thought this would be a good proverb for those of you who are graduating this semester!
Growth Mindset: Today's growth mindset cat is ready to face any monster bravely: Every day new and larger dragons come along. You can find out more at the Growth Mindset blog.
Event on Campus: The Election Watch Party starts at 6PM in Gaylord Auditorium (details). Find out more about this and other events at the Campus Calendar online.
