HAPPY FRIDAY! You have reached the end of Week 6! Here is a link to the class calendar; you can finish up Week 6 today, and maybe do some extra credit too... or get a head start on Week 7 if you are facing midterms and such next week in other classes!

Class Procedures and Reminders

Project Stack. I read and replied to all the assignments turned in on Sunday, but there is still a huge stack of assignments turned in on Monday and during the week. I hope that I can get through the stack today; anything left at the end of the day will be at the top of the stack for Monday. Meanwhile, you can check the stack to make sure I received your email.

Extra Credit. Friday is always a great day for Famous Last Words! Find out more in the extra credit section of this week's assignments.

Grading Chart. Now that the semester is really moving along, you might want to use this Progress Chart to check how you are doing. If you are not on track for the grade you want, you can start doing more of the assigned work, along with some extra credit to make up any assignments you might have missed.

The following items are for fun and exploration:

Class Twitter. It was #NationalPoetryDay yesterday, so from yesterday's Twitter @OnlineMythIndia, here is some poetry by William Butler Yeats: Come away, O human child!

Words from India. The English word "pundit" is from the Sanskrit word PANDIT.

Storybook Archive. This project is from the Myth-Folklore class: The Fairy Tale World. Cinderella, Snow White, and other fairy tale heroines are kidnapped by modern-day TV show producers who compel them to participate in a reality TV show — but the heroines just want to go home!

Free Book Online: Today's free book is The Fairy Book by Dinah Maria Mulock. See the Freebookapalooza blog for links and the table of contents. There's a free audiobook for this one too!

Story of the Day. Today's story is from Aesop's fables: The Women and the Rooster. This is a fable about unintended consequences:

Video: The video for today is The Biology of Positivity. Find out more at this article: The Biology of Positive Habits.

Growth Mindset: Today's growth mindset cats have lofty goals: Rise to the challenge. You can find out more at the Growth Mindset blog.
