Tuesday, April 17

Today is Tuesday of Week 13, and I've re-arranged the Modules area in Canvas so the new week is on top. Here is a link to the Week 13 assignments. There are just two weeks of class left, plus Dead Week!

Class Procedures and Reminders

Success Tip: Plan out to the end. If you make your own plan now for finishing up the class, you can mix-and-match, choosing the assignments you enjoy most. Whatever combination of points you want to use will work, and as soon as you get to the points you need for the grade you want (410 A, 360 B, 320 C), you are done with the class.

Project Stack. If you turned in something before 3PM on Saturday, you should have received comments back from me. I'll finish the Saturday assignments today and hopefully I'll get started on the Sunday assignments. While you are waiting on comments back from me, you can check the stack to make sure I received your email.

April 17: Benjamin Franklin. Today, April 17, marks the anniversary of the death of Benjamin Franklin in the year 1790; he was born in 1706. You can find out more in the long Wikipedia article about his life and various careers. There is a wonderful Latin verse composed in Franklin's honor by the French statesman Turgot: Eripuit caelo fulmen, sceptrumque tyrannis, "He ripped the lightning from the sky, and the sceptre from the tyrants." That verse inspired this allegorical portrait of Franklin from the year 1778; details here:
