Today is Tuesday of Week 10. Here is a link to this week's assignments (plus a link to Week 11 for those of you who are working ahead). I hope you will enjoy this week's new reading!

Class Procedures and Reminders

My Schedule. I'll be away from my desk much of today, but I will get caught up with emails whenever I do get access to a computer. Thank you for your patience with that today!

Project Stack. If you turned in something on Friday, you should have gotten comments back from me now. Meanwhile, you can check the stack to make sure I received your email.

The following items are for fun and exploration:

Student News. Instead of something from the blog stream, I wanted to share this OU Daily article about a student from last semester, Oliver! Some of you might know Oliver from his Twine project: Dungeons and Decisions.

Featured Storybook. Are people getting in the Halloween mood yet? Here's a Storybook for you: Ghost Stories: Old Lady Hudson. The Hudson home is haunted, no doubt about it. Will Old Lady Hudson's ghost ever find peace in the afterlife?

Myth Video. Here's Mike Rugnetta of Crash Course back in his PBS days: Do All Horror Monsters Fit Into 5 Categories?.

India Video. And here's an Epified videos about demons, but not bad ones; these are Virtuous Demons.

India Item. Here's a comic book about Krishna you might want to read this week: Aniruddha: Beloved Grandson Of Krishna. Aniruddha falls in love with Usha, an asura princess.

Writing. And here are some thoughts from Grant Snider about keeping A Writer's Notebook.

And here's a nice graphic about the power of books.

Growth Mindset Cats. These cats are using their curiosity in order to grow.

Growth also requires practice. To be specific, it requires deliberate practice.

Event on Campus. It's FrankenFilms in 339 Bizzell from 3PM-5PM... popcorn provided! (details)

Find out more about this and other events at the Campus Calendar online.

October 23: Josh Kirby. Today marks the anniversary of the death of Josh Kirby in 2001, a great illustrator who is best known for the covers of Terry Pratchett's Discworld novels, and you might be familiar with his art for this Return of the Jedi poster; you can find out more about his life and work at Wikipedia:
