Class Procedures and Reminders
Mix-and-match. You've got the links above to both the Week 14 and Week 15 assignments, and you can mix-and-match as you finish up what you need to reach your goal for the class (410 for an A, 360 for a B, or 320 for a C).
Project Stack. If you turned in something before Tuesday noon of the break week, you should have comments back from me by now. As always, you can check the stack to make sure I received your email. Today I'll keep working on the assignments turned in during break week, and I'll be sure to finish all the Week 13 items in the stack before the weekend.
The following items are for fun and exploration:
Blog Stream. Here's a cool Wikipedia Trail from Shivani's blog: From Draupadi to Elizabeth of Russia. (And she has a "last day of classes" countdown clock too!) The image she chose is the Brihadishvara Temple in Tamil Nadu:
India Video. Speaking of the goddess, here's a video from Epified: Ma - The Mother Goddess.
India Item. Here's another one of those Amar Chitra katha fact sheets: Agni.
Myth Video. The end of the semester is, thank goodness, not the end of the world; that's Ragnarok.
Myth Item. This is a wonderful proverb from Liberia: An untouched drum does not speak. Let your drum speak!
Writing. Here is a similar thought from the great writer Octavia Butler.
Plus some thoughts about the Power of I Don't Know.
Growth Mindset Cats. This cat is on a quest for knowledge: Deeper learning calls for creativity of thought.
Meanwhile, here's some time advice: it doesn't work for everybody, but this Pomodoro Technique might help you make good use of your study time.
Event on Campus. There will be a Chinese poetry reading by David Hinton at 7PM tonight in Bizzell Library (details).
November 29: C. S. Lewis. Today marks the birthday in the year 1898 of the famous author and scholar, C. S. Lewis. Lewis is probably best known today for his series of Narnia books. You can read more about Lewis's life and career in this Wikipedia. The image below shows the first-edition covers of the Narnia books.
