Class Procedures and Reminders
Your blog introduction. As you've seen, you are going to keep getting comments on your blog Introduction all semester long, so if you want to add something to it (like a video, images, etc.), you can certainly do that! If you create memes for extra credit, for example, you can share them in your Introduction post too. Check out the Tech Tips for ideas.
Project Stack. If you turned in something before 9PM on Sunday, you should have comments back from me now. I'll finish the Sunday and Monday assignments today, and as always, you can check the stack to make sure I received your email.
The following items are for fun and exploration:
Blog Stream. Yesterday I shared a Wikipedia Trail from Mariah, and here is one today from Thanhha: From Diwali To Yoga, which includes this really cool Hindu calendar:
Free Audiobook. Today's free audiobook is Myths and Legends of All Nations by Logan Marshall, including the story of Oedipus and the Sphinx as you can see below.
India Video. Here's a lovely Maati Baani video, a collaboration between musicians from India and from Pakistan: Rang Rangiya. Turn on CC for the closed captions in English.
Myth Video. And here's another Crash Course video: Fire and Buffalo Goddesses.
Myth Item. Another word from mythology: HYPNOTIC from the Greek god of Sleep, Hypnos.
Writing. If you want to start writing, just... start writing.
Meanwhile, beware of the caffeine causality loop.
And here's a fun growth mindset animation from Sprouts at YouTube.
Event on Campus. Both Hunter and George from Indian Epics are performing in Rodelinda, which you can see tonight at 8PM tonight in the University Theatre (details).
February 15: Matt Groening. Today is the birthday of Matt Groening, who was born on this day in 1954. Groening is best known for being the creator of The Simpsons... but before there was Bart Simpson, there was "Life in Hell" and the rabbits! The "Life in Hell" cartoons were a staple of my undergraduate college life; you can read about them here in this Wikipedia article. Below is a book cover for his "School is Hell" series. You can see the beginnings of Bart Simpson in that rabbit for sure:
