Tuesday, August 27

Today is Tuesday of Week 2. If you have not started the Week 2 reading yet, today is the day to do that. Reading A this week is an overview of all the different reading options. Have fun exploring! Here is a link to the Week 2 assignments.

Class Procedures and Reminders

Canvas Modules. Now that Week 1 is over, I have adjusted the modules so that Week 2 is up at the top of the Modules in Canvas, and Week 1 is down at the very bottom. I've also updated the Calendar page so the current week is up at the top, but you will still be able to access the old week(s) too.

Project Stack. Some people are already turning in their Week 2 Project assignments, which is great! As people turn those in, I'll update the stack, and you can always check the stack to make sure I received your information.

Introductions. I'll keep on reading Introductions this week (and maybe into next week). Meanwhile, the randomizer is up and running for the Week 2 comments assignment; you may have already gotten some comments on your Introduction already!

The following items are for fun and exploration:

August 27: Leon Theremin. Today marks the birthday of Leon Theremin, who was born in 1896; he died in 1993. He was the inventor of the Theremin, a remarkable electronic musical instrument. You can read about Leon Theremin at Wikipedia. This YouTube video shows Theremin playing his instrument. Even if you have never heard about Theremin the person, I'm sure you will recognize the distinctive sound of Theremin the musical instrument.
