Today is Sunday of Week 6. So, if you have not finished up the Week 6 assignments, today is the day to do that! You can also get started on Week 7 now too (and then Week 8 is going to be a review week as we get to the middle of the semester).
Class Procedures and Reminders
Project Stack. The sooner you turn in your project today, the sooner you'll get comments back from me next week (I reply to the assignments in the order that they are turned in). I'll update the stack periodically today so you can check the stack to make sure I received your assignment. And I hope you will have fun visiting other people's projects: the actual project feedback starts this week!
My good book news. I got some very good news this past week: I'm going to be writing a book about teaching online that will be published by Johns Hopkins University Press! Whoo-hoo! It's teaching these classes over the years that turned me into a writer, and I hope you will also take away lots of good writing energy from this class. Maybe you will become a book author too! If you are curious, here's more about the book. :-)
Blog Stream. Some of you may have seen the sleep-related options in the H.E.A.R.T. extra credit stuff, and when Hannah did one of those she made the cutest meme with Cheezburger: Sleep Facts.
Storybooks. And here's a wonderful Storybook about the trees of India: When Trees Talk.
Proverbs. Here's a proverb from China about trees: One generation plants the trees; another gets the shade.
100-Word Stories. Today's story is one of my favorite Ganesha stories: Ganesha and the Cat (click title for more info).
Writing. Here's some Trek inspiration if you are doing some writing for your project today: Boldly write what no one has written before. (And yes, there's more Trek below.)
Mindset Cats. The mindset cat agrees: I will write without fear.
Event on Campus. There will be a cello recital by Christopher Adkins at 8PM in Catlett (details).
