Class Procedures and Reminders
CONGRATULATIONS! I hope you got a sense of accomplishment by looking back at your work for the Review Week posts... and you should take a moment to congratulate yourself for all the new things you have explored in this class (reading, writing, technology, everything) and also for all the stories you have created and shared. I hope you will have a great second half of the semester!
Project Stack. I ended up with some items left in the stack on Friday, so those will be at the top of the stack on Monday. You can check the stack to make sure your project is in the stack; I'll update it periodically over the weekend.
The following items are for fun and exploration:
Blog stream. One of the reasons I emphasize both blogs and websites in this class is because I hope you will find those skills useful for other purposes, so I wanted to share this cool new project that Rachel (from Myth-Folklore) has started: it's a website she is building and wants to develop as she continues through medical school: Medicine on a Mission. She even made a YouTube channel!

Twitter stream. Some beautiful art from Twitter: this is Durga slaying Mahishasura, the Buffalo-Demon.
Durga close-up:
Plus you'll see the goddess Durga in this PSA form India to promote helmet safety: What Gods wear before they ride.
Something cool for any fans of Outlander: Sam Heughan Wants to Tell You a Story.
Something cool from Public Domain Review: an article about Fungi, Folklore, and Fairyland.
Plus monsters from PBS:

Some writing humor: a gif for the English pangram, A quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog. (Click the link for more pangrams... like The five boxing wizards jump quickly.)
Some inspiration for both reading and writing from Debbie Ridpath-Ohi:
March 20: Now Ruz. Saturday is the Persian New Year holiday, called Now Ruz, which is celebrated at the time of the Spring Equinox. You can find out more at Wikipedia. Here is a video about the holiday from the BBC:
March 21: Peter Brook. Sunday is the birthday of Peter Brook, creator of the extraordinary Mahabharata stage play and film that some of you may be watching in Indian Epics this semester. He turns 96 today! You can read more about his life and career here, and you can listen to an NPR broadcast about his latest stage production, Battlefield, which is also inspired by the Mahabharata.
