Class Procedures and Reminders
Project Stack. If you turned in your project by 8PM on Sunday, you should have comments back from me now, and I'll keep working on the Sunday assignments today. As always, you can check the stack to make sure I received your email.
Mix and match. I hope you are enjoying the chance this week to strategize about the second half of the semester, and I wanted to make sure you know that "all points are created equal" in terms of finishing up the class. You can do as much or as little extra credit as you want, focus more on your project or more on your blog posts, etc. It's up to you to decide what assignments work best for you, and if you have any questions as you come up with your strategy and your weekly schedule, just let me know!
The following items are for fun and exploration:
Project Stream. I love this motto graphic that Maryellen made: Create Change.
Free Audiobook. Today's free audiobook is Reynard the Fox by Henry Morley.
Featured Storybook. Here's a fun Storybook: Elephants of Indian Epics. Singh's two sons Deepak and Tupac are in need of some life lessons, and they are even blessed with a dream vision of Ganesha to help focus their attention on the elephant stories that their father will tell them.
Myth Video. And here's another Crash Course video: Ragnarok.
Myth Item. And here's an animal proverb from Ghana: Two crocodiles don’t live in one pond.
And as you think about feedback, think about self-feedback too.
Growth Mindset Cats. As you grow, just keep telling yourself: You can do it!
And here's a fun video about letters we dropped from the English alphabet.
Event on Campus. Yoga for Mental Health is happening in Sarkeys Fitness Center, Studio B tonight from 6:30PM-8PM (details).
March 7: Stith Thompson. Today marks the birthday in 1885 of Stith Thompson who became one of the greatest folklorists of the 20th century. He pioneered the classification of stories by their basic elements, which he called "motifs," and his Motif Index is still a widely used standard. Those of you in Myth-Folklore may be reading stories from his book Tales of the North American Indians during Weeks 10 and 11:
