All the information you need about the Week 1 Orientation assignments can be found at the course website, and here is where you will find your course website (you can also find the course website links inside the course webspace at Desire2Learn):
Just click on the Week 1 Orientation link at your course website, and you'll find what you need to get started! Those of you who are back again this semester for a second class will want to check out this page of notes for returning students. In addition to the first week assignments for both classes, the assignments for the rest of the semester are basically ready to go as well. So, if you want, you really can get a big head start on the semester!
As always, there are lots of little things I have to adjust at the beginning of each new semester. If you find something that is not working or is not clear, just let me know. I am very grateful for the folks who start early and help make sure everything really is ready to go! I still have lots of little things that I am trying to fix up and improve in the coming days.
For those of you who have gotten started: you'll see that I'm scrambling to keep up, as usual. I'm trying to reply to the Introduction posts at the Ning and also to get back the proofreading exercise and Storybook-related assignments to people promptly. Then, as time allows, I explore the other blog posts and discussion forum tech tips at the Ning too. Thanks to everybody for all the good work you are doing! It will make it more fun when people show up next week and see the Ning going wild! :-)
In the meantime, I hope your new year is off to a good start and that you are enjoying the last days of the winter break. You might even want to spend some of that free time exploring the "garden of your mind" as Mister Rogers explains below!
HAPPY NEW YEAR ... and ... HAPPY NEW SEMESTER!
