Sunday, November 26

Today is Sunday of Week 13... and safe travels to those of you on the road today! If you didn't finish the Week 13 assignments before Thanksgiving, today is the day to do that. You can also find all the assignments for Week 14 and Wek 15 (Dead Week) at the Class Calendar.

Class Procedures and Reminders

Project Stack. I replied to all the Week 12 projects in the stack, and on Monday I will start working through the Week 13 assignments there. While you are waiting on comments back from me about your assignment, you can check the stack to make sure I received your email.

Finishing the class. You should have a plan in place for finishing up the class now, based on the Week 13 assignments (due today), plus any assignments you will be completing in Week 14 and Week 15. As soon as you complete the points you need to finish the class (410/A, 360/B, 320/C), you are all done, and if you have any questions as you map out your plan for finishing up, just let me know.

Extra Credit. If you have missed assignments earlier in the semester, now is the time to make that up with extra credit, and you can also use extra credit to finish up the class early. Find out more in the extra credit section of this week's assignments.

The following items are for fun and exploration:

Class Twitter. From yesterday's Twitter @OnlineMythIndia, here is a new cartoon by Grant Snider.

Advice. Here is some good advice from a tree.

Storybook Archive. This project is from the Myth-Folklore class: Nine Lives of a Cat: Falling Through the Generations. This is the story of a cat, starting from the dawn of time, who is watching — always watching — the human world.

Free Book Online: Today's free book is Deccan Nursery Tales by C. A. Kincaid. See the Freebookapalooza blog for links and the table of contents. There is a wonderful series of fairy tales here associated with the Indian days of the week:

Story of the Day. Today's story is from Aesop's fables: The Rooster and the Fox, in which the trickster fox is tricked.

Video: The video for today is Amy Burvall's The Divine Comedy ("Rapture" by Blondie). Find out more at Amy's YouTube channel.

Growth Mindset: Today's growth mindset cat has enjoyed the break, and offers this advice: Take time to recharge. You can find out more at the Growth Mindset blog.

Event on Campus: Bizzell Library is open today from noon until 2AM (details). Find out more about this and other events at the Campus Calendar online.

November 26: Charles Schulz. Today marks the birthday in 1922 of the American cartoonist, Charles Schulz, creator of the famous Peanuts cartoon characters (Schulz died in the year 2000). You can read more about Schulz's life and career in this Wikipedia article. My favorite of the Peanuts characters was always Linus! Here is an image showing the whole Peanuts gang:
