Class Procedures and Reminders
Success Tips: Learn from other students. One of the best things about a blog network like what we have for this class is that you can learn a lot from other students. So as you visit other people's blogs and read their stories, think of that as a learning process and use what you learn from other students as you work on your own blog and write your own stories.
Project Stack. I will definitely finish replying to all the Week 2 Project assignments today, and I will get to as many of the Week 3 assignments as I can: thanks to everybody for all the good work you are doing brainstorming and planning your projects! While you are waiting on comments back from me, you can alwasy check the stack to make sure I received your email.
Extra Credit. For the regular Week 3 blog comments, you will be reading people's stories from last week. Plus, if you are curious and want to read some new stories that people wrote this week, you can do the "jump in the stream" extra credit comments. Find out more in the extra credit section of this week's assignments.
The following items are for fun and exploration:

India Comic Book: I want to recommend this comic book to everyone in Indian Epics: Kubera: The Lord of Wealth which tells all about Kubera and also all about Ravana's backstory. See the Amar Chitra Katha blog for the Bizzell Reserve call number and more information.

Proverb of the Day: Today's proverb comes from the Biblical creation story: It is not good that man should be alone. Find out more at the Proverb Laboratory.

February 2: Groundhog Day. One of the most famous examples of weather folklore is the Pennsylvania Dutch legend that if a groundhog sees his shadow coming out of his hole on this day (i.e. the sky is clear and not overcast with clouds), there will be six more weeks of winter. You can read more at Wikipedia about Groundhog Day, along with more Weather Lore, including other Animal Weather Signs. And here's a Groundhog Day e-card from Blue Mountain:
