Class Procedures and Reminders
Project Stack. If you turned in your project by 9PM on Sunday, you should have comments back from me now, and I'll keep working on the Sunday assignments today. As always, you can check the stack to make sure I received your email.
Mix and match. I hope you are enjoying the chance this week to strategize about the second half of the semester, and I wanted to make sure you know that "all points are created equal" in terms of finishing up the class. You can do as much or as little extra credit as you want, focus more on your project or more on your blog posts, etc. It's up to you to decide what assignments work best for you, and if you have any questions as you come up with your strategy and your weekly schedule, just let me know!
The following items are for fun and exploration:
Project Stream. When Cat did revisions to her Storybook this week, she added a logo, the Brittany coat-of-arms, and it looks so cool: The Adventures of Merlin. You'll see that option next to your site name in the upper left-hand corner; just upload the image you want to use for your logo, and it will appear on every page of the site:
Cat's logo file looks great when tiny, and here is a larger view:
Myth Video. And here's another Crash Course video: Ragnarok.
Myth Item. And here's an animal proverb from Ghana: Two crocodiles don’t live in one pond.
And as you think about feedback, think about self-feedback too.
Growth Mindset Cats. As you grow, just keep telling yourself: You can do it!
And here's a fun video about letters we dropped from the English alphabet.
Event on Campus. There will be a screening of The Laramie Project with a discussion of hate crimes in Oklahoma by FBI Special Agent Davis at 7PM in Meacham (details).
October 11: International Day of the Girl. Today is the United Nations holiday in honor of the girls of the world; you can find out more at Wikipedia and at the UN website. In the United States, the holiday is The Day of the Girl. And here are some words of wisdom from Malala Yousafzai: I raise up my voice — not so that I can shout, but so that those without a voice can be heard.
