Monday, October 26

Today is Monday of Week 10. (Yes, it really is Week 10!) Here is a link to the Week 10 stuff, plus a link to Week 9 if you are finishing up during the grace period this morning.

Class Procedures and Reminders

Week 10 Reading. Some of you might be starting the Week 10 reading today, and I hope you will enjoy it; there is really cool stuff to read in both classes! In Indian Epics you will be choosing between Krishna and Jatakas (details) and in Myth-Folklore, it's the first of two weeks on Native American traditions (details).

Project Stack. As usual on Monday, the stack is huge, but this week it is mostly revisions instead of new stories, so hopefully I can make good progress through the stack getting comments back to you. As always you can check the stack to make sure I received your project.

The following items are for fun and exploration:

Blog stream. This was a really helpful graphic someone put at the check-in Padlet. Since that's anonymous, I don't know who shared it, but thank you, whoever you are! (larger view)

Twitter stream. I thought this was adorable: Halloween logic! (larger version)

I think I might have shared this before, but it came around on Twitter again, so I'm sharing it here: Goodnight, Zoom. (larger version)

Plus music from Joel Veena

Storybook. In the upcoming Halloween spirit: OU's Haunted Halls.

100-Word Stories. Here's a Sufi ghost story: The Haunted Mosque.

Plus a story generator from Tom Gauld (larger version):

And here's a flowchart for better time management

Finally, something from Crash Course: Freud, Jung, Luke Skywalker, and the Psychology of Myth.

Today marks the anniversary of the death in 1890 of the Italian author, Carlo Collodi, who is best known today as the creator of the the story of Pinocchio, the little boy made of wood.
