Class Procedures and Reminders
Wednesday reading. If you did not get any reading done on Tuesday, you'll want to make sure to do some reading today; that will give you fresh notes to use in writing a story this week. (And remember: that's always the extra credit reading option you can use if you want to make up a reading assignment you missed on Tuesday or Wednesday.)
Project Stack. If you turned in an assignment before Sunday, you should have comments back from me; today I will start replying to assignments turned in on Sunday. As always, you can check the stack to make sure I received your email.
The following items are for fun and exploration:
Project Stream. People are exploring different ways to setting up their Google Site pages, and I wanted to share what Jarad is doing with his Portfolio. He has a really nice page layout that he has used for two stories so far: The Birth of Noah and The Amazed Chemist. As you can see from this screenshot, he has the image and the author's note on the left, with the story to the right. Very nice!
Myth Video. It's another Crash Course video! CC Earth Mothers and Rebellious Sons.
Myth Item. Here's a wonderful proverb from Japan: Someone who stands behind a wall can see nothing else.
And with the power of storytelling, you can travel in time.
Growth Mindset Cats. Be curious! In order to learn, we must probe and poke.
Event on Campus. There's a Multicultural Mixer at 6PM in Jim Thorpe with BSA, HASA, AISA, and AASA. There will be pumpkin painting, karaoke, cinnamon rolls, and warm drinks, all free! (details).
October 17: Pronouns. Today is the first International Pronouns Day. It's all about asking, sharing, and respecting personal pronouns! Learn more: PronounsDay.org.
