Class Procedures and Reminders
Project Stack. I'll look for incoming assignments periodically today so that you can check the stack to make sure I received your form. The sooner you get that assignment turned in, the sooner you'll get comments back from me next week!
Week 6 Project Feedback. For those of you who are working ahead, the Week 6 Project Feedback randomizers are now available! There are now projects in both classes that are ready for you to read and comment on, and I've updated the project lists to reflect that (Portfolios with at least one story, and Storybooks with an Introduction or Story page).
The following items are for fun and exploration:
Blog Stream. Abby did a growth mindset post which includes this great graphic; I wanted to share this here since I know there are some students in class who are into neuroscience. More at Abby's blog post.
Storybooks. And here's a Ganesha Storybook: Ganesha Loves His Food.
Words. We have quite a few words in English that come from India, and one of them is BANGLE, from the Hindi word bangri, meaning "glass bracelet."
Myth-Folklore Video. For fans of Crash Course, here's another video for your viewing pleasure: Freud, Jung, Luke Skywalker, and the Psychology of Myth.
Mindset Video. Here are some thoughts from the perspective of evolutionary biology: mental 'deficits' are hidden strengths.
Event on Campus. OU's School of Music presents Rimsky-Korsakov’s fantasy opera The Golden Cockerel in a 3PM matinee today in the Reynolds Performing Arts Center (details).
A Latin teacher friend of mine translated The Hobbit into Latin, perhaps of interest to you Latin students out there: Hobbitus Ille, translated by Mark Walker.
