HAPPY FRIDAY! Today is Friday of Week 9. Here is a link to Week 9 and also to Week 10 for those of you who are ready to work ahead.

Class Procedures and Reminders

Finishing the class early. Several people have already finished the class, and if finishing early is your goal, I can recommend doing extra credit and also working ahead. If you can finish up Week 9 today, you can get started on Week 10 this weekend, and maybe have time for some extra credit too. More about class progress and finishing up the class here: Progress (and be sure to see the Week 13 option for this semester).

Project Stack. Today I'll be sure to reply to all the Week 8 assignments still in the stack, and then I'll do as many of the Week 9 (and beyond) assignments as I can (and then anything left in the stack today will be at the top of the stack next week). As always, you can check the stack to make sure I received your project.

The following items are for fun and exploration:

Blog stream. One of the Tech Tip options is learning how to embed a Google Slideshow in a blog post, and that's what Lumingo did here: Embed Google Slides. She made a slideshow of her microfiction stories, which is a great idea for a slideshow!

Twitter stream. Navratri continues (see below), and here's another image of the Goddess doing battle with the COVID-demon: Kolkata Pandal Goes Viral.

It was monster day at #FolkloreThursday yesterday; here are some medieval illuminated monsters (and see Crash Course below):

And the Red Dragon of Wales made an appearance also:

And some groovy music:

Storybook. It's another dragon! From a previous Storybook: The Dragon under the Yew.

100-Word Stories. A wonderful monster story from the Sufi storyteller Rumi: The Child and the Monster.

Do you like coloring books? I do! And here are some coloring book pages from the Los Angeles County Museum of Art to download and color. :-)

Another lovely comic from Tom Gauld (larger view):

For more about monsters, here's Crash Course:

October 23: Navratri. This is the seventh day of the Navratri festival, which is Kalaratri, the dark manifestation of the Goddess. You can read more at Wikipedia, and there's also an article on Kalaratri. Here's an image: Making You Fearless.
